I actually went inside the submarine you see in the pic XD its a very old one used during the 2nd world war..

visit to the Royal Armouries, Fort Nelson - Portsmouth (23/08)

Alright, we had another trip yesterday. It was great. We went to Fort Nelson, where the Royal Armoury is. A bit of history; Fort Nelson was one of the other 5 forts that were guarding the naval base in Portsmoth in the 1860s. It was built in 1859 to prevent the french attacks during the second world war.
First of all, me and the guys went to the firing range to try out the gun simulators. It was fun. But each try out eats 1pound (damn it). Anyways, there 2 simulators. 1 with a rifle (the one used during the war) and 1 with a light machine gun. You were tested by your accuracy. I did pretty bad with the rifle, I got UNQUALIFIED, the lowest rank in the game. As for the Machine gun, I got MARKSMAN xD, top rank!! ehehe...I guess I've always been good with the big guns. Later after that I went around te fort. It was quite big..(see pictures above)

An event was held at 11.30, a theatre play was going on. It was called 'the interpretation of the Mary Rose' and was played by an intrepretor named Jeff. What he did was act as one of the survivors when the Mary Rose sanked. I would say it was a really good act. Expecially the fact that he did it on his own. He really grabbed the attention of the audiences brilliantly. Too bad he was better as an actor then he is as a person. ehehe. But I'd still give him two thumbs up.

Then at 12, there was the Gun Firing. It was held on the hilly side of the port near where the artilleries were kept. The staff was demonstrating how it looks like having a canon fired (yes, its a real canon). They did 2 shots and I tell you, It was so damn loud!!! X(
Overall,I would say it was really good and interesting. I enjoyed the trip. I even bought souvenirs; a replica of the Victorian cross and a bullet keychain. Now..on to our next trip!! (yes, its not over yet)
